Curion Sprouts: Structured English Tuition for Preschoolers (K1–K2)
Our carefully structured storytelling system teachers higher-level skills such as: logical reasoning, advanced vocabulary, and oral communication.
By the end of the programme, children should become more confident in English and better prepared for the demands of primary school.
Our Preschool English Levels – K1 & K2 at a Glance
Kindergarten 1 (K1)
In K1, children build the foundations behind language by developing early literacy habits, phonological awareness, and vocabulary exposure. Through guided discussions and storytelling, we nurture their curiosity and help them express themselves in the classroom with growing confidence.
Kindergarten 2
In K2, we begin to prepare children for the demands of primary-level reading and writing. Teachers guide them through activities that nurture essential skills, such as sentence-building, deeper comprehension, story retelling, oral fluency, and more. This builds the cognitive readiness and confidence needed for Primary 1 comprehension and written expression.
How We Build Early English Mastery
Logical Reasoning
Not only is this important for understanding advanced texts in the future, logical skills are useful across the board, such as for other subjects like Maths and Science.
Deep Comprehension
At Curion Sprouts, every term is built around a theme (Land, Sky, Ocean, Outer Space), so children expand their vocabulary and general knowledge together. This is how advanced vocabulary is built naturally.
Oral Communication
At the end of each term, students participate in a mini show-and-tell, sharing their thoughts on the term’s theme in their own words.
How Curion Builds Confident Early English Learners
The Curion Sprouts curriculum is rigorously designed based on our Skill Pillars framework. You can read more about this framework at our Pedagogy Page.
The Skill Pillars represent six fundamental skills that grow in height, as children advance to higher levels: Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing, Grammar, and Vocabulary.
We carefully map the growth in skills from K1 all the way to P6. Through this process, every skill taught in Curion Sprouts is meticulously linked to a core competency required in Primary School.
Our Approach
Behind the fun and engagement, there is a deep logic underpinning our curriculum.
Each lesson targets a specific skill, such as:
- Placing nouns, verbs, and adjectives in a sentence (under Grammar)
- Making logical predictions based on tone (under Listening)
- Sensitivity to shades of meaning, e.g., “angry” vs. “furious” (under Vocabulary)
- Organising a simple argument before speaking (under Speaking) Spotting contradictions or false clues in a story (general Logical Thinking)
Acquiring these skills will be challenging for K1-2 children, but with gentle guidance + a systematic curriculum + irresistibly engaging lessons, they are very achievable.
How Each Skill Connects and Compounds
Early Grammar Awareness
A feel for good sentences comes before rules.
Children absorb pronouns, plurals, and connectors naturally through stories and guided language use, building instinctive sentence structure.
Vocabulary & Story Awareness
Words stick better when they live in stories.
Through repeated story patterns and interest-led themes, children recognise key words and understand how vocabulary shapes meaning.
Pre-Writing & Expression Skills
Strong writing starts with clear thinking.
Children move from oral retelling to drawing ideas and forming simple sentences, easing the transition into Primary 1 writing.
Oral Communication
Confidence grows through purposeful speaking.
Structured discussions help children articulate ideas clearly, listen actively, and take turns in conversation.

FAQs About Curion’s English Tuition for Preschoolers
Isn’t K1–K2 too early for English enrichment?
When P1 comes around, the academic grind begins and students are faced with lots of new content. With so much going on, students no longer have as much time to build stronger foundations.
Curion Sprouts gives your child a headstart. Our programme explores language through stories, songs, and conversation. Children are encouraged to truly understand words and ideas, not memorise them.
Making the leap from P1 to P2, many children also struggle with composition writing. Our K1-2 story-driven classes help children understand basic narrative construction. We also build advanced vocabulary from day one.
My child is already speaking fluently. What more do they need?
Fluent speech is wonderful, but structured thinking is the next step. We help children turn their thoughts into clear, connected sentences, build vocabulary purposefully, and begin recognising story structure. These are the soft foundations that support future writing and reading.
Will this overlap with what they’re learning in preschool?
Preschools cover general literacy, whereas Curion Sprouts offers specialised language development. These include areas such as: oral expression, narrative logic, and early composition through storytelling. This is an enrichment layer, not repetition.
How do you track their progress without giving marks?
We observe skills, not scores. Our teachers monitor how your child expresses ideas, listens and responds, sequences events, and grows in confidence. You’ll receive regular, personalised updates so you can see the milestones they’re hitting.
What kind of activities will my child do in class?
Examples of activities include: storytelling with props, solving mystery puzzles, and sentence-building games. Every session is designed to help your child use language actively and meaningfully.
