Our Pedagogy
Many people think scoring in English requires guesswork and a natural flair for the language. At Curion, we have English mastery down to a science.
Read on for an introduction to our proprietary teaching methods.
Systematic Learning
Skill Pillars
The central framework guiding all our enrichment programmes
Behind every clear sentence, strong composition, or confident oral response is a set of skills. That’s why we designed a precise, holistic diagnostic system that tracks your child’s skill gaps. So your child always knows how to improve.
We organise our teaching and assessment around Skill Pillars – 6 core competencies underpinning each component of PSLE English. Each of the 6 Skill Pillars are further divided into modular skills that can be taught, assessed, and tracked separately. This way, when children underperform for any particular section of the English paper, we can diagnose the root cause.

FormuFlow Method
Taught in our Composition Accelerator (P3–5)
Creative writing is often taught in fragments. Many enrichment classes focus on writing techniques and model compositions, without giving students a clear, reliable system to craft original, exam-ready compositions within time constraints.
Our FormuFlow Method is a structured system to tackle any composition question, without memorising model essays.
It gives children a dependable way to plan, write, and express ideas creatively.
Joyful Exploration
Children learn best when they’re having fun. Our method turns rigorous progress into motivation and play:
- Structure Builds Confidence
Clear frameworks like Skill Pillars and FormuFlow give students a sense of control.
- Projects Make It Stick
Interactive class projects make learning memorable, reinforcing skills learnt. - Joy Drives Progress
Progress feels good, so students keep going!
This whole process repeats naturally, with each round building on the last.
